Federico Jover García

Federico is responsible for the Intellectual Property and Audiovisual Law Area of H&A Abogados.

Throughout his years of experience, he has had the opportunity to advise large companies in the energy and technology sectors, both nationally and internationally. Likewise, his regular clients include small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the entertainment industry, as well as individuals and/or artists to whom he provides the personalized attention that each case requires.

Due to his broad academic and professional background, Federico also actively collaborates with the other practice areas of H&A Abogados, advising on trademarks, patents, industrial designs and new technologies.

Biography

Federico Jover holds a degree in Law from the University Alfonso X el Sabio of Madrid and is a lawyer of the Bar Association of Alicante (ICALI).

From very early on, he shows interest in Industrial and Intellectual Property rights, studying in 2014 the prestigious “Magister Lvcentinvs”, a master’s degree taught by the University of Alicante which is a reference worldwide. Federico’s professional career begins in one of the main Spanish law firms, focusing his activity in the defense of trademarks, industrial designs and domain names.

Subsequently, he will be part of the legal team of LATIN AMERICA IPR SME HELPDESK, a project co-financed by the European Commission in which he will provide advice on Intellectual Property matters to European companies wishing to internationalize their business in Latin America.

Aware of the importance that new technologies and personal data have in today’s society, in 2016 Federico decides to complete his academic training by completing a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Law, Data Protection, Audiovisual and Information Society at the Carlos III University of Madrid, studies that are compatible with professional activity.

In 2018, Federico joins the Legal Department of H&A, currently leading the Intellectual Property and Audiovisual Law practice of the firm.

  • Master’s Degree in Industrial and Intellectual Property, “Magister Lvcentinvs”, University of Alicante.
  • Master’s Degree in Telecommunications, Data Protection, Audio-visual and Information Society Law, Carlos III University of Madrid.
  • World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – “Grant of licenses for computer software, including open code software”.
  • European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) – XII European Union Trade Mark Intensive Module.

Certification

  • Bar Association of Alicante (ICALI).
  • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), University of Cambridge.
  • Spanish Association of Entertainment Law (DENAE).

Experience

  • Legal representation of artists and companies in legal proceedings for infringement of Intellectual Property rights.
  • Legal representation in proceedings initiated by collective management entities of intellectual property rights (SGAE, AIE, etc.).
  • Negotiation and out-of-court mediation in claims filed by collecting societies (SGAE, AIE, etc.).
  • Legal advice on intellectual property and audiovisual law matters to large companies in the cultural and entertainment sector.
  • Extensive experience in contractual matters (agreements between parties, licensing and assignment of rights to third parties, software licensing, etc.).
  • Search for financing for production companies and companies in the audiovisual and entertainment sector.
  • Coordination of the industrial property rights portfolio of a company in the energy sector listed on the IBEX 35.
  • Successful recovery of domain names (UDPR) before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for several foundations in the academic and cultural sectors.
  • Successful recovery of domain names (UDPR) before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from various public and private institutions.
